It rains a lot in London. Mia knows this. Everyone tells her. "Have an umbrella with you," says her mother. "Always, always."

But Mia does not have an umbrella. Her umbrella is in Osaka. "I can buy one in London," she thinks. But she does not buy one.

On Monday morning, the sky is blue. Mia goes to work. She has her bag and her coat. She does not have an umbrella.
月曜日の朝、空は青いです。ミアは仕事に行きます。かばんとコートは持っています。かさは持っていません。
At work, Mia sits by a window. At three o'clock, the sky is grey. At four o'clock, it is very dark. At five o'clock, it rains. It rains and rains.
会社で、ミアは窓のそばに座っています。三時、空が灰色になります。四時、とても暗くなります。五時、雨が降ります。どんどん降ります。
Mia looks out of the window. The street is all water. People run with umbrellas. "Oh no," says Mia. "The station is ten minutes away."
ミアは窓の外を見ます。通りは水だらけです。人々はかさを持って走っています。「どうしよう」とミアは言います。「駅まで十分かかるのに」
Her friend Ben comes to her desk. Ben works with Mia. He is tall, and he has a big umbrella. "Do you have an umbrella?" he asks. "No," says Mia. "It is in Osaka."
友達のベンがミアの机に来ます。ベンはミアと一緒に働いています。背が高くて、大きなかさを持っています。「かさある？」とベンは聞きます。「ない」とミアは言います。「大阪にあるの」
Ben laughs. "Come with me," he says. "My umbrella is big." They walk to the station under the umbrella. The rain is very loud. Ben is wet on one side. Mia is wet on the other side.
ベンは笑います。「一緒においでよ」と言います。「ぼくのかさは大きいから」二人はかさに入って駅まで歩きます。雨の音がとても大きいです。ベンは片側がぬれます。ミアは反対側がぬれます。
At the station, Mia says thank you. "Buy an umbrella!" says Ben. "I can," says Mia. "I can buy one tomorrow."
駅で、ミアはお礼を言います。「かさを買いなよ！」とベンは言います。「買えるよ」とミアは言います。「明日買える」
On Tuesday, Mia buys an umbrella. It is blue and very nice. She has it with her all day. On Tuesday, there is no rain.
火曜日、ミアはかさを買います。青くて、とてもすてきなかさです。一日中持ち歩きます。火曜日は、雨が降りません。
On Wednesday, there is no rain. On Thursday, there is no rain. On Friday, it is hot and sunny. Everyone is in the park. Mia is in the park with her umbrella.
水曜日も、雨が降りません。木曜日も、雨が降りません。金曜日は、暑くて晴れています。みんな公園にいます。ミアはかさを持って公園にいます。
Ben sees her umbrella and laughs. "It is London," he says. "The rain can see your umbrella." Mia laughs, too. She does not go out without it.
ベンはミアのかさを見て笑います。「ロンドンだからね」と言います。「雨には、きみのかさが見えるんだよ」ミアも笑います。それでも、かさなしでは出かけません。
